Belle II 실험을 중심으로 본 차세대 입자물리실험의 방향
(The Belle II Experiment and the next generation particle physics)
우리가 존재하는 우주의 기본 구성물질과 물리법칙을 설명한 것을 표준 모델이라고 부릅니다. 1970년대 이후 꾸준한 실험과 연구를 통하여 표준 모델의 우수성이 증명되었으며 이제는 표준 모델를 넘어선 새로운 모델을 세워야 하는 필요성이 날로 커지고 있습니다. 일본의 Belle / Belle II 실험을 중심으로 입자실험물리 분야의 역사를 살피며 현재 입자물리학계가 당면한 과제와 이를 해결하기 위해 추진 중인 차세대 실험에 대하여 설명합니다.
The fundamental physics law of our universe is explained by the Standard Model, established in 1970’s. A series of various particle physics experiments has successfully shown the excellence and usefulness of the Standard Model. At the same time, the need for the new physics model beyond the Standard Model is ever increasing and should be explored by the current and the next generation experiments. We will visit the history of the experimental particle physics, and show the current and future subjects in the field of particle physics with the example of the Belle / Belle II experiment.
