제목: Investigation of soft matter dynamics using MHz X-ray Photon Correlation Spectroscopy at storage ring and XFEL
초록:
X-ray Photon Correlation Spectroscopy (XPCS) has been a well-established and robust technique to study dynamics in disordered systems in molecular length scales, such as colloids, bulk metallic glass, polymer, and protein suspension systems. Achieving sub-microsecond dynamics in this technique had been challenging due to the slow X-ray detector frame rate and insufficient photon flux. Thanks to the development in large-scale X-ray facilities, X-ray Free Electron Laser and high-performance synchrotron radiation sources enable providing sufficient photon flux. In addition, recently developed large X-ray area detectors working in MHz regime mitigate the limitation of temporal resolutions in XPCS technique. This presentation will show a successful demonstration of MHz XPCS conducted at European XFEL and PETRA III using Adaptive Integrated Gain Pixel Detector (AGIPD). This result will benchmark the upcoming 4th generation synchrotron radiation source (4GSR) in Ochang.
