Fundamentals and Functionalities of Advanced Field-Induced Phenomena by Ionic Gating
The carrier density in solid state materials plays a key role for electronic and other physical properties.
In this talk, I will introduce recent development of field effect using ionic media leading to an
outstanding capacitive coupling. This enables us to overcome the limited control of the carrier density and hence to have a chance to “turn on” correlated states of matters such as superconductivity and ferromagnetism. With this advanced field effect, we are able to tune the carrier density high enough to explore unprecedented phenomena and new functionalities in ionic gated common materials.
