Surface Plasmon-Mediated Versatile Functions in Hybrid Nanostructures
Surface plasmon resonance (SPR) is an enhanced electromagnetic field induced by the interaction between the incident light and the surface plasmon, i.e., collective oscillation of free electrons in conduction band of noble metal at the interface of metal and dielectric, that decreases exponentially into both media. Recently, SPR has been widely applied in nano- and bio-technological fields including photovoltaics, photocatalysis, controlled light emission, optical sensing, plasmonic waveguides, biomedical engineering, etc. Herein, we introduce our recent efforts to enhance or optimize versatile functional properties in nanostructured hybrid materials mediated by SPR phenomena.
