강연 제목: Composite basis of photon from space-time optical devices
초록:
The spatiotemporal combination of fundamental basis of photons can construct
composite basis, also known as structured light, providing exotic functionalities beyond
conventional optics.
In this talk, I will introduce the emerging field called space-time
photonics, which develops various types of composite basis of photons using
nanophotonic platforms. I will first present gradient-thickness optical cavity, a topological
photonic medium that spontaneously generates optical vortices with strong electric and
magnetic field activity.
I will then discuss nonlocal metasurfaces capable of producing
space-time light bullets with non-diffractive and non-dispersive characteristics.
Finally, I will highlight the potential applications of these composite bases in light-driven quantum
phenomena and free-space optical communications.
